6th Homework:
Monday - Read and Annotate Shane Ch 6 Tuesday - Read and Annotate Shane Ch 7 Wednesday - Read and Annotate Shane Ch 8 Thursday - Read and Annotate Shane Ch 9 Read and Annotate Shane Ch 10-11 All homework should take no more than 20-25 minutes to complete. We spend the last 10 minutes in class starting homework, so all students should have some of the reading homework completed by the time they get home. Annotation Expectations: In class we talked about annotation expectations in order to make annotations more efficient. Here are some of the suggestions if students are taking a long time to annotate: 1. Just use a pen to underline and make comments in the margins. It is easier and more efficient than switching between highlighter and pen. 2. If using a highlighter, pick one color per reading assignment and stick with it. There shouldn't be extra work of color coding information or anything like that. A lot of students worry about annotations looking pretty and perfect - this is not necessary. Meticulous highlighting is not an efficient use of time. 3. The current expectation is that each page has at least one sentence or key idea underlined and there is at least one comment for every two pages. These expectations will increase over time, once students are used to the work load.
